stress

who knew it would be sooooo hard to FedEx about 80 invites and priority mail another 250? who knew that the FedEx website SUCKS? and that quite unexpectedly, the USPS (aka government) website actually sucks less? i've spend hours and hours on this stupid project and i still don't even have all the stuff i'm supposed to send out. appearently the marketing dept hired the slowest off campus printing service ever.

i also thought i had lost the original disk to a very expensive piece of software. in most cases, this shouldn't be that important, 'cause we have lots of copies and you can't actually run the software without writing to the company and having them send out an individual access code for each computer. however, it's still not good to lose stuff like original disks. thankfully, after freaking out for an hour or so, and then deciding that i had too much work to do and should just ignore the fact that i had psossibly lost the disk, a co-worker found it in her desk, where she had forgotten about it. argh.

my other boss is out of town. i think she'll be back on thursday. i have to try and accomplish something before she gets back. it's a very annoying double standard...if i leave town, and leave the list of essential things that still need to happen when i'm gone, along with the list of things that would be good to have someone complete while i'm gone, i will generally come back to having the essential things done bass ackwards and the non-essentials ignored because it was "so busy." but sure as heck, even if we're a man down because the boss is out of town, there are a whole lot of beyond-the-normal projects brewing that probably ought to be done before the boss gets back, especially since this boss is about the only person i know who can actually come back from vacation in a worse mood then when they left. granted, it's not all that busy, but the staffing has reached it's physical minimum, so the few customers that are around manage to command the attention of every available soul.
